How do I log in to Blackboard?

You will use your Patriots account to log into Blackboard. If you do not know your Patriots account, please contact itsupport@patriots.uttyler.edu for assistance.

For the protection of your identity, NEVER give your password to ANYONE, even the Patriot Email or Blackboard Administrator.

How do I change my password in Blackboard?

You will not need to change your password for Blackboard since you are using your Patriots username and password. There is a password change option which you may see, but this will not affect your account.

I forgot my password. What can I do?

Send an email to itsupport@patriots.uttyler.edu with your full name, student ID, and birthdate.

I'm a new instructor who's interested in using Blackboard. How can I obtain a Blackboard account?

If you have a UT Tyler Lotus Notes email account, send an email to itsupport@patriots.uttyler.edu requesting your Patriots account information.

This is necessary to verify you as an instructor with the school and to protect your identity. A UT Tyler Lotus Notes account will help verify you with the school.

My students are having difficulty in one of my courses, and I would like to view this course on Blackboard as a student to see what they are seeing.

You can switch between "edit" and "display" views when you are in your course. Go to the course homepage, and choose the menu item that you wish to view on the left-hand side (for example, you might choose "Assignments").

Once there, you will have a hyperlink on the top-right of the assignment frame which will indicate the type of view that is being displayed. To view what will appear for your students, choose "Display View". To return to the instructor view, choose "Edit View".
